Consultation Process

During your consultation process with Dr. Masciadri, you will be given and advice of the methods and procedures that will be used for your treatment. She will explain the form and function of each procedure including how it will impact your case and situation. This includes the condition of oral tissues, how to improve dental and facial appearance and how to develop proper chewing function that is acceptable.  Dr. Masciadri will also evaluate how your oral health impacts other parts of your life.

Regarding dentures, denture comfort and function is affected by loss of ridges, soft and unhealthy tissue, bone spicules, muscle activity in the floor of the mouth and one's ability to adapt. No two people function the same with their dentures. All of this is accomplished by making an immediate (training) denture.  Teeth are selected that are harmonized and balanced to the size and shape of your face.  These teeth are placed on the denture base in a natural position. Every effort will be made so you do not have that 'denture look'. The immediate training dentures are placed and they have a treatment soft-liner between the base and your gums.  This soft liner will help rehabilitate the tissue back to health and at the same time produces a functional impression of the ridges as it molds to the shape of your mouth. Since this is a training treatment denture, changes in functional aspects and appearance can be made as deemed necessary.  When you are completely healed, comfortable, and you really like the appearance and you are satisfied with the degree of function that has been accomplished for your particular oral condition, the immediate training dentures are then used as a blueprint to fabricate your complete permanent set of final dentures.

Emergency Dentistry

We handle and do provide emergency dental service for our existing and walk in patients on a case by case basis.   All you have to do is call us and let us know of your condition and we would accommodate your situation as fast as possible

Some common signs and symptoms that warrant an emergency appointment could include:

1. Severe toothache: This is one of the most common reasons for seeking an emergency appointment, particularly if the pain is accompanied by swelling and/or sensitivity.

2. Broken or chipped tooth: If your tooth is broken or chipped, getting it treated as soon as possible can help prevent further damage and preserve natural tooth structure.

3. Knocked-out tooth: If you experience a tooth being knocked out while playing sports, driving, or engaging in any activity where there’s a risk of injury, seek immediate dental assistance immediately to reinsert the tooth back into its original position using the temporary restoration (such as a piece of wax or cloth) until it can be evaluated and stabilized at another time.

4. Tooth avulsion (falling out): If you’ve lost a tooth due to trauma, infection, or any other reason, call for immediate attention from a dentist. Treating this type of avulsion requires prompt action as the remaining teeth will not have enough time to grow back. While treatment options depend on each person’s unique situation, rest assured that many dentists offer same-day or next-day appointments to address such issues and refer patients to oral surgeons when necessary. In summary, dental emergencies are critical and should never be ignored, so don’t hesitate to seek professional help promptly, especially when facing severe or life-threatening situations.
